ROD ANKER

Rod Anker started his career in hairdressing in 1986 Melbourne, Australia and soon after was nominated apprentice of the year. Learning the craft from the Leaders in the Industry and submersing himself in the Art of hairdressing. A passionate artist he explored several artistic mediums including painting and more aggressively photography to which he has won several competitions and has been published both in Australia and internationally for hairdressing.

Rod moved to Singapore with a luxury hair brand, developing systems to expand the group to India and China. With 12 months in Singapore then moving to Beijing opening the salon there before settling in Delhi, India.

Launching the Rod Anker brand has been a dream that together with his partner Merrylin Boro has come to fruition, in New Delhi, India.  “Given the growing youth demographic in India and the need for change in the Industry to be able to deliver a standard of hairdressing that was more defined rather than trying to be everything for everyone” Says Rod. Hairdressing has changed, with a youth cult like following that is rebellious and young, its more about being relatable than it is about being a trend based service. His work has been admired throughout India and see’s him frequently travelling throughout India and beyond looking after his high profile clients which is made up of A list Bollywood, celebrities, Tv personalities, successful business people and a mix of embassy expat’s with a large portion of homegrown clientele. 

He is a regular columnist for various magazines and work is frequented in top fashion magazines and television in India. For the last 7 years he has been an Industry Judge for the Elle Beauty Awards, Vogue awarded him Colourist of the Year 2012. Official hairstylists leading the team for Wills fashion Week 3 years running.
